Olive Post-Construction Detail List

One-Time Cleaning Visits Available - Every post-construction clean is tailored to your space.

GENERAL THROUGHOUT HOME

  • Remove all construction debris, boxes, plastic, and tape (client/GC to provide dumpster).

  • Remove stickers from windows, appliances, fixtures, and glass.

  • Vacuum all dust from:

    • Walls, ceilings (as reachable), corners, trim, baseboards

    • Window sills, ledges, door frames, and casings

    • Stair rails, balusters, and banisters

  • Detail dust all surfaces:

    • Built-ins, shelving, mantels, and ledges

    • Light switches, outlets, and cover plates

    • Vents, registers, and return air grilles

  • Wipe all doors and door frames, including tops and edges.

  • Clean interior glass on doors, sidelights, and interior windows (streak-free).

  • Spot-clean walls for scuffs, marks, and dust smears (no paint damage).

  • Vacuum all floors thoroughly, including corners and edges.

  • Damp mop all hard floors with appropriate eco-friendly cleaner, multiple passes if needed to remove fine dust film.

BATHROOMS

  • Remove all stickers, labels, and protective film from fixtures and glass.

  • Clean and polish:

    • Sinks, faucets, and countertops

    • Tubs and showers (walls, doors, tracks, built-in shelves, niches)

    • Toilets (inside, outside, base, hinges)

  • Detail clean shower glass and hardware to remove dust, overspray, and water spots.

  • Wipe cabinet faces, drawer fronts, and interiors if dusty.

  • Clean mirrors streak-free.

  • Dust and wipe towel bars, hooks, toilet paper holders, and robe hooks.

  • Wipe exhaust fan covers and vents (reachable by step stool).

  • Vacuum and mop all bathroom floors, including behind toilets and in corners.

DOORS, TRIM & FINISH DETAILS

  • Wipe and dust all trim work:

    • Baseboards, crown molding (as reachable)

    • Window trim, door trim, and casings

  • Clean stair treads, risers, and stringers; wipe railings, posts, and spindles.

  • Spot clean paint or caulk smears from floors and hardware where safely removable (no scraping that could damage finishes).

  • Clean inside closets, linen closets, and utility closets (shelves and floors).

FINAL OLIVE TOUCHES

  • Do a full “client-eye” walkthrough of each room, checking:

    • Corners, edges, and high ledges for missed dust

    • Smudges on glass, stainless, and high-touch surfaces

    • Floors for dust film or footprints

  • Empty all trash and remove cleaning supplies from the site.

  • Lightly stage basic items if provided (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) so the space feels move-in ready.

  • Leave a simple Olive note/card with any observations the homeowner should know (e.g., existing damage, paint issues, etc.).

KITCHEN & PANTRY

  • Vacuum and wipe inside and outside of:

    • All cabinets and drawers (remove sawdust, shavings, and construction dust)

    • Pantry shelving and racks

  • Clean and polish all countertops and backsplashes (including grout or caulk smears where safely removable).

  • Clean inside and outside of major appliances (as requested/safe):

    • Fridge (shelves, drawers, door seals)

    • Oven (racks, door glass, exterior)

    • Microwave (inside and out)

    • Dishwasher front and control panel

  • Detail clean sinks and faucets; remove dust and sticker residue.

  • Wipe down all hardware: knobs, pulls, handles, and appliance handles.

  • Clean light fixtures and pendants (reachable by step stool).

  • Wipe the top of fridge and high cabinet faces.

  • Vacuum and mop kitchen and pantry floors thoroughly.

BEDROOMS, LIVING AREAS & CLOSETS

  • Dust and wipe all shelving (closets, built-ins, open shelves).

  • Detail dust blinds/shades (if installed) and window tracks/sills.

  • Clean interior glass on windows and doors (construction smudges, fingerprints).

  • Dust ceiling fan blades and light fixtures (reachable by step stool).

  • Wipe closet rods and hardware.

  • Vacuum carpets and rugs slowly to pull up fine dust; multiple passes as needed.

  • Sweep and mop any hard flooring, including under removable grates and covers.

ENTRY, MUDROOM & UTILITY AREAS

  • Wipe cubbies, benches, hooks, and locker built-ins.

  • Clean doors, kick plates, and handles.

  • Dust and wipe laundry room cabinets, counters, and shelving.

  • Clean laundry sink and faucet (if present).

  • Vacuum and mop all hard flooring.
